From Lichtenberg, riding machine No.21, (formerly tracked as 31,) a
Suzuki GS 1100cc combination, Kallie has had his, son Konrad as
passenger until 2014 when Britz junior acquired and started racing his
own combo. Kallie is now partnered by JB Botha, (rt.).

Son of rider No.21 Kallie Britz, Konrad started racing his own combination in 2014 and regularly finds himself lined up against his father, Britz senior. After claiming the Sidecar Speedway championship in 2015, Konrad is now partnered by Dawie Thomas, (left,) in 2016.

DERRICK HILLIAR & Gordon Raath No.69
From Johannesburg, No.69, Derrick "2-Dogz" Hilliar races a Yamaha FZR 1000cc chariot. With Derrick as chair man, he and Colin Aitken took the first resurrected SA Sidecar Speedway Championship in 2008, then he piloted his own combination to the title in 2011. In 2012 he was Sidecar Golden Helmet winner.
In 2016 Gordon Raath has returned as partner to DH.

b. 1969 & 1980
Sidecar champion of 2009, Wayne Whittaker returned to the dirt track in 2016 after a number of years away. He's based in Krugersdorp and is the owner of a Kawasaki ZX10 Superbike-powered machine.
His regular partner is Clint Basson.

Edwin is the middle siblings and as his father was a sidecar rider it was always something he wanted to do. He has been riding sidecars for about three years, a Kawasaki 1100cc combo, and loves the spectators giving him support. He reckons the more bikes on the track the better! Estelle is Edwin’s wife and they have been riding as a team since their start-up.
Another up-and-coming rider is their young son William, who, as a 5 years old, took part in his first race at Walkerville in August 2014 on a 50cc PeeWee.

DONOVAN BUTLER NO. 65
b. 1990
Donovan (Lt.) is the youngest of the three Klerksdorp boys. He was very involved
in power boat racing in his teens but then moved to sidecar racing,
following his dad and two older brothers. He started as a jockey for
Deon Kruger in 2011, and then went to jockey for his oldest brother
before buying his own bike and starting racing in the middle of 2013.
Donovan is still involved in power boat racing to a lesser degree.
Jockey Kosie
Harmse is Estelle's
brother and is relatively new to the sport. He started to jockey for
Donovan in May 2013.

Deon & Johan pilot a Suzuki GS 1000cc unit, No.77.
(Deon also has Dean Todd or Donovan Butler as crewman sometimes, while Johan crews for Riaan Kruger, - or elsewhere when needed.)

Father & son Alfie & Juan, from Welkom were 2012 S.African National Sidecar Speedway Champions. They race chariot No.11, a Suzuki GSR GSXR 1000cc machine.
COLIN AITKEN (rt)

Though not having raced at Walkerville for a few years, Colin Aitken still hold the Sidecar Track Record at the Showground with a time of 67.91s. set back in June 2009. He was National Oval Dirt Track Champ in 1988, '89, '93 & 2008, the latter with Derrick.
Between times Derrick 'Two Dogs' Hilliar has turned to racing his own Yamaha combination, with significant success.
GORDON BUTLER No. 51 - R.I.P.
15.1.1982 - 20.12.2014
Gordon received fatal injuries in a traffic
accident on his road bike on Dec.20th 2014.
Gordon (Rt.) is
the oldest of the three Butler brothers from Klerksdorp and started racing in 2011 after a 12-year power boat racing career. He first crewed for others for 18 months and then
bought his own combination. His dad raced bikes and sidecars, and so
that’s where the interest in the sport started. His dream is to go
racing in Australia someday.
Jockey Johan
Herbst started racing
bikes 13 years ago on the tar circuit. In his long career he has
only fallen twice and enjoys the sport tremendously.
